I was wondering if anyone else has this system...

Unlike many people, we have a 'core', which is me.  When I'm fronting, I can hear the others chit chatting in the background, although they don't know anything thats going on on the outside.  I can also communicate with them, too.  When I happen to be in a semi-concious state while one of the others is fronting, I can't speak with the fronter, although sometimes I can speak with the others who also aren't fronting.  Do any of you have this system?

yeap i do i do. Excep that there are 3 of us (the powerful 3) with a few otehrs that over the years have tagged on that can see what's goin on on the outside. THAT part is pathetically annoying, because I always have an audience and I always have a peanut gallery just chop full of things to say and they do too!

We used to. We still sort of do, but the background communication is going through construction. (Coming out of intergration)

When I am fronting, I cannot hear those chatting amongst themselves in the background. However, if they talk directly to me while I am in the front, I can hear them. I guess that's some sort of failsafe system in case the one fronting is completely lost and has no clue what to do, that way, one of the more experienced people in the system can guide them. But only the person fronting can control the body.

Several of us have developed the knack of "listening in" to what's happening outside when we're not in front. And in general, if someone is in front they can talk with the rest of us. If there's something of interest happening outside, whoever is front will often "hear" what the rest of us are talking about.

We've been encouraging this; the easier communication flows between us the happier and more functional we all are.

we are able to not only communicate back and forth with those that are fronting, but also with each other when we're not.

Our system [livejournal.com profile] sweetssystem is pretty much the same. We can talk to whoever is out front, and talk to each other inside. Whoever is front can hear inside if they listen usually.

sometimes we can't turn it off

sometimes the person front can hear all of us and can't turn it off or tune us out or whatever, and even when it would be best if we weren't watching front, which some of us can do and some can't, at different times, a lot of it depends on who is front and what exactly is going on, but sometimes all the chatter will nearly drive the front person bonkers. and sometimes the front person absolutely can't be reached, even by the person whose job it is to monitor front.

Not intentionally, but yes, every now and then. See our response to [livejournal.com profile] jhonathand's post,
