Intro
Hi, I'm Alixx. Not quite sure what to say here. I don't *think* I have DID, but lately I've gotten the feeling that I'm "not alone" in here, if that makes sense. I do have another "side" to me that my wife has named "Psycho", but I'm not sure he's a full fledged personality yet. But he might be. I also have some body image issues that I think might be a part of this but I'm not sure. Is it possible for one of your "others" (I guess that's the term) to be missing one or more limbs and try to force that upon the primary body?
Thanks for your help, it's nice to meet you all.

That's ok. We don't have DID either! ;) we're just multiple.

I can't tell you whether or not he is; you're the only one(s) who can ultimately make that decision, though I have to admit it bothers me a bit that your wife whould call him-- if he is seperate at all-- by a moniker like that. Maybe she's just trying to be funny, but I can say that when I was first identified as a seperate person by others in here, I'd have been rather upset to get stuck with such a tagline.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by forcing? It's normal for people in a system to have self-images different from the body's appearance (check our user icons sometime if you want an example), and certainly possible for missing limbs to be part of how someone sees themselves. Do you mean that when this person is out, they-- or others who are near the front-- get sort of a sense of your body having missing limbs also?
