Othello (Manga)

Has anyone read the Othello manga series? It's basically about a shy, clumsy, sweet girl (Yaya) who happens to be multiple. She transforms (originally unbeknownst to her) into a fiesty, tough, hot girl named Nana. Nana helps her out, kicking serious butt whenever Yaya gets into trouble (which is often.) Nana's so unlike Yaya that, in the beginning of the series, people often don't even recognize them as being the same person.
So far, it seems damn good. We're having a lot of fun reading it.

...And it's available through the local library system here (Minneapolis,) which just makes it infinitely better.

Uh. I've read the first two parts a year or so ago. It's entertaining enough. ;) (Tells something that no one else over here didn't want to hear anything more about it, after hearing some small spoilers.)

Very much so... Though January seems to have learned a little restraint more recently-- at least, more than she had when we first met. She's more responsible now, though she still says and does a lot of things I'd be way too timid to do. She gets really mouthy when she's pissed, and I can't recall ever having so much as cussed someone out before. Nana's sense of style and her general attitude (especially towards men) seems a lot like January's, too.

There are, like, eight books out now.

...though there is one major difference that comes to mind: Nana is extremely protective of Yaya and often seems motivated by nothing more than the desire to keep Yaya from harm. January, on the other hand, seems a lot more selfish. When I mess up or I'm stupid or shit happens to me she usually just bitches me out and tells me how she would have handled it. She's not exactly nice most of the time, and she only rarely intervenes when I'm in trouble.

YES!!! We Actually had a post and review in our journal when it came out. It's all out now it ended in april or may. It's 7 vol and very good. We loved it!

Especially the switching seems realistic...maybe not the reasoning though.

Mm-hmm. I think her reflection is used as an interesting plot device, though Nana is a bit overly dramatic when she appears... I suppose that goes with the territory, though, this being manga and all.
