I don't think anyone in here believes that they're a fictional character. I think some people believe they might have come from a parallel universe in which there was someone like that character, or someone experienced events similar to theirs.

Bingo. We just got very sick of explaining that; people seem to assume that soulbonds always claim to be the One True Version of a certain character; either that, or they're borrowing someone's identity.

I agree that soulbonding got very silly; still, it's not fun to be told repeatedly that your friends don't exist or are lying to you merely because of their names and histories, some points of which coincide with bits of fiction.
