Plural within a Plural....

Is it possible to be dissociative and have alter(s) when one is already part of a larger system? Because I've recently come to the realization that I think I am. There are two people using my name, and one of them isn't the same as me. We've lived the same life, yes, but different parts of it.. Sort-of. (I think the others [[livejournal.com profile] andeveryoneelse] are starting to consider me/us to be either a soulbond or past life, if that clarifies it at all.) I'd forgotten that the other side of me still existed, and I don't know if he ever realized I did... Ah.. Yes. It's just very odd. Hm.. Name-wise, I suppose I'll let him have our birth-name and I'll take the name we got later.

Anyhow. I/we'll be lurking, I suppose.

It is possible to be a person in a multiple system and be multiple yourself.

oh yeah, I'm an "other" and I've created Faith (i think...some of us aren't sure how we all came about)

but...yeah

Definately. I used to have a system within myself, although now I've been able to have them cross over into the main system. There are a couple members in Our system though that are multiple - We think Nine is more dissociative, but We think Jane is actually multiple and has several different "Janes" that regularly front in her inside body.

Our SO(s) also had a member in their system who had an inner system, which also eventually joined their main system.

Yes, definitely possible. One of the others here, whom some of you may know here as Myele or Myorp, has this continuum thing going on where her personality shifts on a spectrum and on either end she most definitely qualifies as different people. They even talk to themselves occasionally inside which is somewhat confusing for any of us who happen to be listening at the time.

Kent, one of our original insiders, also appears to exist dually, although that's quite odd because they are both pretty much the same person for all intents and purposes, just that there are two of him. They echo each other alot whenever either of them is talking. Almost like you could imagine a two-headed man.

We are multiple, which is a functional adaptation, but each of us have various levels of dissocation going on, and that's more of a problem for us.

It was completly beyond my ability to explain my amusement at the time that I got discharge papers which switched me from the 'milder' DD-NOS to the "more severe" DID and I burst into laughter.

I'm multiple all right, but that's not the problem part! Dissociation is.
